"Welcome to the Oklahoma State University SPE student chapter website. Our goal as a chapter has been to create more opportunities for our members to learn, network, and gain experience in the oil and gas industry. We pride ourselves in having some of the most well-rounded and brightest engineering student’s at OSU. From winning 1st Place in OSU’s CEAT week to winning 1st place in both the undergraduate and master’s divisions of the 2016 regional SPE paper contest, our members continually prove their distinguished knowledge, skills, and passion for the oil and gas industry. "The Oklahoma State University student chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers exists to connect our members with potential employers as well as provide opportunities to showcase our petroleum skill sets. SPE organizes meetings where representatives from regional oil and fast companies present current industry topics to our memebrs. We showcase our petroleum knowledge by sposoring a team of our member to compete in the SPE International Petrobowl. The Society of Petroleum Engineers Mission is:
To collect, disseminate, and exchance technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil & gas resources, and related technologies for the public benefit; and to provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence.
The OSU chapter of SPE aims to execute this mission as well as serve as the student voice in promotion of Oklahoma State's Petroleum Engineering Program.
OSU SPE is executing SPE International's mission through:
- Industry Speaker Meetings
- Partnering with Halliburton to put on "Camp Bullet"
- Opportunities to Attend SPE Mid-Continent Section Luncheons Free of Charge
- Opportunities to Attend SPE Student Summit and SPE Interntional's ATCE
